Our latest Policy Brief (September 2025) calls for stronger EU action to safeguard pollinators, essential for food security, biodiversity, and healthy ecosystems.
We highlight three key priorities:
New Genomic Techniques (NGTs):Innovation must not come at the cost of safety. We urge mandatory risk assessments, patent limits to preserve biodiversity, and clear labelling to protect consumers and beekeepers.
Biocontrol:Natural pest management offers safer, low-risk alternatives to synthetic pesticides. The EU should create a dedicated legal framework for biocontrol, with faster approvals, tailored risk assessments, and farmer support.
EU Pollinator Week 2025:Taking place 4–6 November in Brussels, this event will unite policymakers, farmers, scientists, and citizens to discuss pollinator-friendly farming and responsible innovation.
By acting now, Europe can align innovation, equity, and ecological protection—securing sustainable agriculture for future generations.
