Discover the Pollinators

When people think of pollinators, bees usually come first to mind. But pollinators are a far larger and more diverse group, divided into several insect orders. From buzzing flies to shimmering beetles, graceful butterflies, and yes - our beloved bees - they are the flying, crawling, and fluttering life force behind the world’s food and flower cycles.

At BeeLife, we invite you to discover and understand their role. Each insect has a vital place in the ecosystem and by getting to know them, you’ll start to see the world a little differently.

Pollinators: Key role for Biodiversity

Why Pollinators Matter?

Pollinators keep our ecosystems blooming. Without them, we lose flowers, fruits, vegetables — and the rich diversity of life itself.

🌸 Food Security: They fertilise crops and fruit trees.

🌍 Biodiversity: They sustain wildflowers and healthy landscapes.

💚 Human Well-being: Protecting them means protecting ourselves.

By learning about pollinators, we can protect them. By protecting them, we safeguard the planet.

Pollinators: Key role for Biodiversity

The Orders of Pollinators within the insect world

Pollinators don’t all look the same, they belong to different groups of insects, each with unique traits that shape how they interact with flowers and ecosystems. Together, they form the backbone of plant life, ensuring reproduction and the stability of food chains. But this balance is now at risk: according to the latest IUCN Red List update, 10% of bee species and 15% of butterfly species in Europe are facing extinction, with nearly 100 new bee species added to the threatened list in just ten years. The main causes are habitat loss, wildfires, pesticides, and human activity.

👉 Discover the main orders of pollinators and why they are so vital for our future.
